## Identity

Mark Painter (born Bermuda, 1957) is a contemporary visual artist — not a house painter or decorating contractor. He studied at Great Yarmouth College of Art and Technology (1975–76), St Martins School of Art (1976–79), and the Royal College of Art (1981–84), and is based in Sussex, United Kingdom.

## Practice

Mark works on **paper**, **canvas**, and **reclaimed wood**. Media include oil, acrylic, watercolour, and mixed paint on salvaged timber. Themes include process, chance, quantum uncertainty, material memory, and impermanence.
